Andrew Davies

Before joining Syniverse as CFAO in June 2020, Andrew Davies served as the CFO of Sprint Corporation from July 2018 until the closing of its merger with T-Mobile USA. Before that, he spent four years serving as Group CFO for Amsterdam-based VEON. Prior to joining VEON, Mr. Davies spent more than a decade with Vodafone Group holding CFO positions in Japan, Turkey, and India, before being named CFO of Verizon Wireless in the U.S., which at the time was a joint venture between Vodafone and Verizon Communications. He started his career with KPMG in Wales before serving in senior finance roles with GE, Honeywell, and the Caudwell Group in both the U.K. and the U.S. Mr. Davies graduated with an honors degree in mathematics from London’s Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, is an Associate of the Royal College of Science, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He serves on the CTIA Board of Directors. Additionally, Mr. Davies is a Wall Street Journal CEO Council member.

Justin Dellaportas

As Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), Justin Dellaportas brings years of cybersecurity experience and leadership. He is responsible for securing Syniverse’s global telecommunications and enterprise messaging network and maintaining the trust of clients around the world. Justin specializes in the strategy and development of cybersecurity organizations and program execution.

Before Syniverse, Justin played a pivotal role with Nielsen, transforming the Cybersecurity organization’s people, processes, and technologies. Earlier in his career, Justin was an engineer working for the global security and aerospace company Lockheed Martin. Justin’s proven track record of maturing organizations' cybersecurity posture, overseeing growth strategies, and creating world-class teams has earned him a well-respected reputation in his field.

Justin holds a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering and a minor in business administration from the University of Central Florida. During his career, he has also earned a GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) from the SANS Institute and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification. In 2023, he was recognized as one of Tampa Bay Business Journal's "40 Under 40," which spotlights emerging leaders younger than 40 in the Tampa Bay business community.

EVP and Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Mark Maddry

Mark Maddry brings 25 years of experience driving financial strategy in the telecommunications industry. At Syniverse, as EVP and CFO, he oversees global financial operations, including financial planning, reporting processes, and investor relations. Mark has been an integral part of the Syniverse leadership team since 2022, when he joined as Senior Vice President of Business Performance. During his tenure, he has been instrumental in strengthening investor confidence and driving financial excellence, while also extending his leadership to further strengthen Syniverse's finance organization.

Before joining Syniverse, Mark had a distinguished career at Sprint/T-Mobile, where he held progressively senior roles over more than two decades. In his prior role, Mark was Sprint’s Vice President of Planning and Analysis, playing a pivotal role in orchestrating the financial integration of the $26 billion merger between Sprint and T-Mobile. Mark also led transformative initiatives, long-term financial strategy, and process and system optimization. He also managed critical communications with the board and investor relations, steering strategic financial messaging to key stakeholders.

Mark holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Memphis and a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Carolina University.

Harry Patz

EVP and Chief Revenue Officer

Harry Patz, Jr.

Harry Patz, Jr. leads Syniverse’s go-to-market functions across all verticals and segments, including sales, product marketing and brand, customer success, go-to-market strategy, pre-sales, professional services, and business development. Mr. Patz is a general manager and global business growth executive with 25 years of experience in the technology, telecom, and media industries. He brings extensive experience in strategy, sales and marketing, business development, and operations to his role. Mr. Patz has a proven track record for entering new market sectors, reinventing business models, and transforming organizations.

Most recently, Mr. Patz served as Senior Vice President and General Manager for the Display Division at Samsung Electronics America. In his role, he was responsible for sales, customer relationships, product marketing, business development, and channel for a large portfolio of products, such as digital signage and integrated software and solutions across multiple industries. Notably, he also spent twenty years at Microsoft Corporation, more recently as Partner and Vice President of the Communications Sector in North America.

Mr. Patz holds a Master of Business Administration from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Science in Management and Marketing from Boston College.

William B. Petersen

Bill oversees Syniverse’s legal and corporate governance functions, bringing over 35 years of extensive legal and strategic experience.

During his career, Bill has served as an Assistant United States Attorney, the General Counsel of Verizon Wireless, the head of litigation and enforcement for Verizon Communications, and the General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer for the Philadelphia Museum of Art. He has also been an adjunct professor at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School.

Bill is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, where he served as the Editor-in-Chief of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review. He also holds an M. Div. from Yale University and B.A. from Ursinus College.

Leigh Ann Polverelli

EVP and Chief Customer and Operations Officer

Leigh Ann Polverelli

Leigh Ann Polverelli oversees Syniverse’s global customer support and operations, which is structured to exceed customers’ service needs with 24/7 support through in-region technical expertise, standardized solutions, and broad knowledge of business needs in each market served by Syniverse. With more than 30 years of experience in the telecom industry, Ms. Polverelli’s career has encompassed several senior customer support and operations positions over 19 years at Syniverse. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell and an MBA from Simmons College.

Sandra Rosa

EVP and Chief Human Resources Officer

Sandra Rosa

In this pivotal role, Ms. Rosa guides the organization’s global HR team and partners with senior leadership to develop and execute Syniverse’s people and culture strategy. This role encompasses organizational development, human resources, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.

Rosa comes with an extensive background in the financial and banking sector. Most recently, she served as CHRO and Executive Vice President at Santander Consumer USA. Ms. Rosa has a proven track record in HR business partnering, organizational design and talent development, strategic partnership and planning, DEI, talent acquisition, and business transformation.

Ms. Rosa holds a bachelor’s degree in human services and psychology from Judson University. She is on the national board of directors for the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) and is the 2024 chair-elect for The Concilio, a Dallas-based nonprofit dedicated to building stronger communities by unlocking opportunities for Latino families.

Sonia Sullivan

EVP and Chief Technology and Information Officer

Sonia Sullivan

As Chief Technology and Information Officer, Sonia Sullivan is responsible for several vital functions within Syniverse, including internal and external facing supporting technology, architecture and operations for Infrastructure, cloud and datacenter, and networking. In addition, Ms. Sullivan oversees cyber security, business operating systems, program portfolio services, and UX/UI design. Ms. Sullivan is a senior IT executive with a proven track record for executing successful technology transformations. She joined Syniverse most recently from Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions, where she served as SVP and CIO. In her role, she was responsible for all IT solutions, services, and information security. Before that, Ms. Sullivan had a long and progressive career with Motorola. In her last role at Motorola, she was Vice President of Information Technology, responsible for all of the company’s back-office systems of record. Ms. Sullivan has a Bachelor of Science in Business Communications from Chestnut Hill College. She is based at Syniverse’s global headquarters in Tampa, Florida.

John Wick

EVP and Chief Product Officer

John Wick

John Wick serves as Chief Product Officer and is responsible for the company’s global product portfolio, including product strategy, research and development, product management, and implementation. Previously, he was Syniverse’s Chief Technology officer overseeing technologies for its Carrier and Enterprise business units and Syniverse’s information technologies. During his career at Syniverse, Mr. Wick has been instrumental in the development and success of core products such as Syniverse Secure Global Access, IPX, messaging, and multiple 3G, 4G, and 5G signaling solutions. Mr. Wick joined Syniverse in 1993 and was initially responsible for managing the network operations department. He has held management positions in operations, research and development, technology, business development, and product management groups. Prior to joining Syniverse, Mr. Wick was a systems integrator with Verizon and, earlier, an electronic communications and switching systems technician for the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Wick graduated with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business from Nova Southeastern University. He also holds an associate degree in electronic engineering technology from the Community College of the Air Force and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt. Mr. Wick currently represents Syniverse on the board of the Competitive Carriers Association (CCA) and the Executive Advisory Board of the Innovative Operators (IO) association.

James A. Attwood

James A. Attwood

James A. Attwood, Jr. serves as Chairman of the Board of Syniverse. He is currently a Senior Advisor at The Carlyle Group, a global investment firm, whose Carlyle Partners V L.P. fund acquired a controlling stake in Syniverse in 2011. Attwood joined Carlyle in November 2000 and played a key role in leading the firm’s investment activity in the global telecommunications, media, and technology (TMT) industries for two decades. Before joining Carlyle, Attwood was Executive Vice President for Strategy, Development, and Planning at Verizon Communications. At Verizon (and GTE before that), he oversaw all strategic planning, alliances, ventures, corporate strategy, development, and M&A activities. Before his four years at Verizon and GTE, Attwood served as an investment banker at Goldman, Sachs & Co. for 11 years, working in the New York and Tokyo offices. Attwood graduated summa cum laude from Yale University with a BA in applied mathematics and an MA in statistics in 1980. He received JD and MBA degrees from Harvard University in 1985.

Stephen W. Bailey

Stephen W. Bailey

Stephen W. Bailey is a Managing Director of Carlyle focused on growth, middle market, and large cap investing in the technology sector.

Mr. Bailey joined Carlyle in 2005 as a Managing Director and has led over a dozen software and tech-enabled services platform investments and several dozen add-on investments. Mr. Bailey currently serves as a director on the boards of several active Carlyle software portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Carlyle in 2005, Mr. Bailey served as Vice President and Head of Corporate Development at Dell. In his roles, Mr. Bailey was responsible for the company’s strategic investment, M&A, and other business partner relationship activity. Mr. Bailey previously was a Principal with ABS Capital Partners, a private equity firm, and he held positions in 3Com’s Business Development Group and in the investment banking division of Alex. Brown.

Mr. Bailey received his AB from Harvard and his MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Kevin L. Beebe

Kevin L. Beebe

Mr. Beebe has served as a director of Syniverse since January 2011. In 2007, Mr. Beebe became the President and Chief Executive Officer of 2BPartners, LLC, a partnership that provides strategic, financial, and operational advice to private equity investors and management, and in 2014 Mr. Beebe became a founding partner of Astra Capital Management, a private equity firm in Washington, D.C. From 1998 to 2007, Mr. Beebe was Group President of Operations at Alltel Corporation, a telecommunications services company. Prior to joining Alltel, Mr. Beebe served as Executive Vice President of Operations at 360°Communications Co., a wireless communications company, from 1996 to 1998. Mr. Beebe also held numerous positions of increasing responsibility at Sprint Corporation, a telecommunications service company, including Vice President of Operations, from 1984 to 1995. Mr. Beebe graduated with honors from Kutztown University in 1981 with a bachelor’s degree in economics and received a master’s degree in economics from Bowling Green University in 1982. Mr. Beebe currently serves as a member of the board of directors of SBA Communications Corporation, a wireless infrastructure company; Skyworks Solutions, Inc., a provider of semiconductors; and Frontier Communications Corporation, a telecommunications provider. Until 2019, Mr. Beebe served on the board of directors of NII Holdings, Inc, a telecommunications company.

Orisa Cherenfant

Orisa Cherenfant

Ms. Cherenfant has served as finance executive for a number of General Electric financial and industrial businesses from January 2010 to August 2018, CFO of Baker Hughes GE Digital from September 2018 to May 2019 and VP Finance for Twilio R&D from June 2019 to August 2021. Ms. Cherenfant brings over a decade of financial leadership experience across multiple industries including financial services, industrials and technology. With a recent pivot in focus from finance to business operations, Ms. Cherenfant has served as Vice President of Product Strategy and Operations at Twilio since September 2021, the leading cloud communications provider. In this capacity, Ms. Cherenfant partners with Twilio’s product and business leaders to drive daily operations, as well as broader business strategy enabling growth and optimization across the communication platform portfolio. Ms. Cherenfant has a dual bachelor’s degree in Finance and Marketing from Boston College.

Jason Chukel

Jason Chukel

Jason joined Twilio in 2020 and currently holds the position of SVP & CFO, Twilio Communications. Prior to his current role, Jason served as SVP of Finance and GTM Operations for the Twilio Data & Applications (TDA) business unit, and also served as the VP of GTM Finance at Twilio, overseeing financial aspects related to sales, support, services, partners, marketing, and GTM operations.

Dan Mead

Dan Mead

Appointed to the Syniverse Board of Directors in 2016, Dan Mead previously served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Verizon Wireless until his announced retirement, following 37 years with the company.

Mead is one of the founding senior executives of Verizon Wireless, the largest wireless company in the United States. As President and Chief Executive Officer, he had responsibility for the company’s growth, financial performance, and public policy advocacy. Mead has also held several senior positions in Verizon’s parent company, including President and CEO of its FiOS and wireline operations nationwide.

Mead was a member of the Verizon Foundation Board, former Chairman of the Board of Directors of CTIA, the wireless industry’s national trade organization, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Pennsylvania State University. He also serves on the board of directors for Terrestar.

Mead earned an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in Quantitative Business Analysis and Finance from Penn State University. An Alumni Fellow, Mead received the Penn State Distinguished Alumni Award, the highest honor given to a graduate by the University.

Raymond Ranelli

Raymond Ranelli

Mr. Ranelli has served as a director of Syniverse since January, 2011. From 1981 to his retirement in 2003, he was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, a global network of firms delivering audit, assurance, tax and consulting services, where he held several positions including Audit Partner, Transaction Services Partner, Managing Partner of the Washington D.C. Regional Offices, and Vice Chairman and Global Leader of the Financial Advisory Services practice with operations in 20 countries.

Mr. Ranelli has served as a member of the board of directors of fifteen public and private companies, including K2M Group Holdings, Inc. until 2018. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Virginia Commonwealth University and has also held executive positions in several charitable and community organizations, including co-chair of the District of Columbia Bicentennial Commission, and received lifetime achievement awards from the Leukemia and National Kidney Associations.

Ameet Rathod

Ameet Rathod

Ameet joined Twilio in August 2018 and currently serves as Senior Director of Corporate Development where he is responsible for mergers & acquisitions and strategy. Mr. Rathod has executed numerous telecom related transactions while at Twilio. Mr. Rathod brings well over a decade of transaction and strategy experience as a member of the corporate development team at GlobalFoundries and as an investment banker advising technology and healthcare clients at Wedbush Securities, Merrill Lynch, and Deutsche Bank. Mr. Rathod is a graduate of UC Berkeley where he received a B.A. in Economics.
